SYL was born in north of France (Lille), in march 1967.
She was 9 years old when my family moved to the south, French Riviera.
She grew up in countryside, close to Nature.
After a usual school courses, SYL spent two years in the University of Nice, got a degree in Psychology.
Then, she felt very attracted by travelling, so she decided to travel. SYL has been living almost one year in the French Indies
and two years in South America (Venezuela). There, she worked by myself, creating and selling handmade jewels.
The fact of being dived in a brand new world (what she was looking for !) did teach her to be
much more aware of the surrounding, opening some "doors" of perception.
When SYL went back to France, she experimented different aspects of Art : wood sculptures, water paint (gouache).
Then she met RIC, a great painter and thinker. We travelled together to south of Spain and
SYL learned from RIC and books, how to draw and the classical oil painting technic.
The following years, SYL spent her time in creating oil paintings, drawings
using different mediums as charcoal, sepia, sanguine and pastels.
Three years later, she learned by herself the Art and Technic of Photography : it took more and more space
in
her life. Details
of Nature were her favorite subjects. Some friends invited the artists couple
to live in the north of Germany.
SYL started using slides colour film. She received such inspiration from the
coldness
effects on the Nature that Photography became
her main activity by this time. SYL also worked on another kind of Photos, exploring the magnificence of the Light.
With the same spirit than for the previous photos, she developed what she calls today the "Experimental Photography".
SYL never had her own laboratory, so she did concentrate her efforts on the "catch of sight" : how to reach a
"special-effects" photo in one shot, using lights, glossy materials, glass, colour inks, and so on.
On that time, Ric and SYL started working together on photomontage and they produced
a few slides shows they performed on stage with live music.
Later on, with the idea of joining the different activities of pictures creations,
SYL settled a technic using drawings and photographs: the "Photographism".
Now she feel like insisting on the fact that all the creations we presented on this pages
have been made by hand, the photos have been realised with a rudimentary and old reflex camera.
In 1999, SYL and RIC entered the electronic world, learning how to use a computer:
one of the first result is "Artimage CDRom
" based on our Internet homepages,
gathering most of the couple creations, with pre drawings and comments.
Today, the new technologies enables SYL to establish an assessment
of the images which she carried out in painting, drawing, photography.
The Internet network makes possible to communicate and
share these experiments with the whole world.
