The
Tower Of Babel. oil on Canvas 200 X 120 cm (1983)
Digest of five panels originally designed on the same one format that external panels, this central module of the triptych shows a heteroclite crowd sharing same over-populated space, but nevertheless indifferent ones to the others, lost in their solitary thoughts. Subjects of original project can be found in the various sectors: Child's Games (in the medium on the left), Garden (in bottom on the left), the Babel Tower. In bottom on the right, a set of scenes of nightmares that surmount combat of monstrous beings and a tavern populated by drunkards. Such was my vision of the conditions of the period: indifference and cruelty, degeneration and loneliness. Topics of the Tower of Babel (ambition and incommunicability) as well as the Sets of Children were the subject of two of the head works of Breughel the old .
